From Chur we drove to the train station of Grüsch and from there on continued our journey by train and bus to Fanas. Fanas is a tiny village in the Prättigau Region. We took a
small cable car to go up to Alp Eggli. The cable car is so small that you should call ahead and reserve your ride. There is no fixed schedule, the cable car just leaves when needed.

From Alp Eggli we hiked up to the Schesaplana mountain hut. The path was very diverse and we had beautiful views on other mountains and down the valley.

Crossing a fresh mountain river |
After about four hours of hiking (including breaks) we arrived at the hut. As a refreshment we enjoyed homemade elderflower syrup.

Can you spot the Schesaplana hut at the end of the way? |
About 100 meters below the hut we could choose our scooter bike for the ride down. After checking all tires and sizes we each made our decision. The first part of the road was just a wider hiking path with many many tiny rocks. Therefore the ride was bumpy and we took many breaks to relax our wrists.

Let's ride down the mountain! |
It didn't take us too long to get used to the style of riding these scooters and we enjoyed the views flying by around us.

Full speed |
The final part was on a street where we could drive with high speed. This was a lot of fun. After nearly one hour we arrived in Grüsch where our trip ended.
